![]() Stone Building Workshop - NHFS 2 day workshops: July 12 & 13 and August 9 & 10, 2008 Immerse yourself in a stone building workshop at Round River Farm. Participants will receive important hands-on time moving from basic theory to "I can" build with stone. Moreover, students will have a chance to explore interior non-structual stone building techniques. Students work and learn at different stone building 'stations' as they encounter varied building techniques and strategies. This workshop will provide you with the knowledge, craftsmanship, basic skills and techniques to build your own solar oven. Learn design & material considerations, walk through the building process and actually build your own oven. This five hour class gives you the opportunity to learn how to weave the northwoods greens into a circular holiday wreath. Participants will learn what greens to cut, how to hand wire them to the circle, how to decorate and make bows. You will start in the woods then end up at the farm figuring how to coordinate your 15 fingers and 4 thumbs. (At least that is what it will feel like) Most go home with a unique and sometimes beautiful holiday circular forest. After years of research, the final SymBioSystem has been successfully treating our waste water for almost a decade now.
