Solar Appliances
The two most important appliances in our home are the refrigerator and the washing machine. In the summer we use the Sunfrost RF 19 refrigerator. We store our chicken eggs, goat milk, bulk vegetables and household things like mustard etc. We have it on our porch to reduce the electrical demand because on average the outside is at a lower temperature than inside our house We also use the Staber Washing Machines that uses 15 gallons of water per load. Not only does that save energy on the pumping of the well water, it saves energy on the pumping of the wastewater. We have many other appliances as well. Each aspect of our lives have stimulated creative and sometimes convenient solutions. |
