David Abazs
graduated from Warren Wilson College in North Carolina with B.A. degree in Environmental Studies with a Biology concentration & Intercultural Studies with a South East Asia concentration.
David Abazs will be one of the trip leaders, focusing on curriculum/presentation development, media events and contacts, equipment and fund raising, and lead the research aspects of the trip.
He has 40 years of paddling experience and decades of work in water related fields, teaching, providing workshops and presentation, solar and wind installation and animal/vegetable farming and sustainable living designs and skills.

Lise Abazs
also graduated from Warren Wilson College in North Carolina with B.A. degree in Environmental Studies with a Biology concentration & an Intercultural Studies minor.
Lise Abazs will be one of the trip leaders, focusing on administration, financial management and logistics.
She plans on providing the background support for all of the administrative duties and will be joining the journey along key sections of the river.

Colby Abazs (17 yrs old in 09)
Colby has been homeschooled for the first nine years of his academic life and he will most likely be attending Scattergood Friends School this fall.
Colby will be one of the trip youth leaders, focusing on camping logistics and campsite responsibilities along the river. He plans to be on the river for the entire journey. He will be an integral aspect of the success of the journey.

Tremayne Abazs (15 yrs old in 09)
Tremayne has been homeschooled for the first eight years of his academic life and he will most likely be attending Scattergood Friends School this fall.
Tremayne will be one of the youth paddlers, focusing on music, writing and group dynamics. He plans on being on the Mississippi for much of the summer.

Wes & Lori Seele
Graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point with B.A.
degrees in Forest Management, Ecosystem Restoration,
Environmental Education and Art...
Wes and Lori are planning to help plan out the logistics of the paddle and help us with maps, equipment and legal issues within MN. They are hoping to join us for as much of the river as they can.

Melinda Suelflow
Melinda Suelflow graduated from Macalester College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Political Science.
She is planning to be running the CSA farm back home, allowing much of the rest of the crew the opportunity to be on the journey as much as possible. She and the farm will be offering food for the journey when it is possible.
